Thrifting Shopping Party Find

Rhoda, from, http://southernhospitalityblog.com/ hosted a thrifting shopping party earlier in July. This stool was at the first Goodwill we visited.  I liked it's stubby little legs. We discussed how we would paint it - bold, bright, beachy, which I love.
Since the top was almost perfect, it called out for-------
My first Typography! I used a graphic from the Graphics Fairy, http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ . Somehow the top just seemed perfect for it. I used a paint pen and away I went. I tried and opaque projector, but the stool was too dark, so I copied the graphic as best I could.  I did distress the top and lighten the dark letters to help age it.
A close up of the distressing after two coats of Chalk Paint in Old White and clear wax.
From Thrift Store to French Country Chic!

BB, love what you did, that top was too perfect to paint over, so that was a perfct solution!! It looks fantastic, so glad you took it home.

Looks amazing!I love it! Where do you get your chalk paint- is there a local supply or do you have to order it from AS? Does the Old White have any yellow tint to it? I'm looking for a paint without yellow tones, but not stark white, not sure what to use. (Several projects lined up, waiting for a decision....)

Hi Shelia, I'll send you an e-mail about all of this. Old white is not a pure white, it will have a yellow tint. Thanks to your kind words and stopping by!

I too love what you did with that top. Would have never thought of it. Great job. Looks a lot better than it did sitting in the Goodwill store.

Thanks for your kind comments! You saw it before so I am happy you like it. I really debated what to do with it. I owe it all to Rhoda and the Graphic's Fairy! It was good to hear from all of you!
